One Blue Fish

With A Wild Heart Collective

In October 2016, I decided to open a storefront (because that seemed like a great thing to take on with a nine-month-old baby), which was one of the most challenging things I've ever done!

Thankfully, our little storefront has been successful beyond anything I could have imagined, often fully booked months in advance for custom cakes! & weddings!

The CMC family now numbers 7 including 5 children, several of whom can be spotted helping out at the shop learning responsibility and good work ethic!  I'm sure the free cupcakes have nothing to do with it, lol.

We donate 1% of our proceeds to the Cloth For A Cause organization!  CFAC helps supply struggling Canadian families with cloth diapers, helping both local families and our environment!

CMC then

Hi!  I'm Victoria, CMC creator and head cake decorator!  I've loved baking since I was a child, and was even running a teeny coffee shop/bakery by age 18.  At 19 I picked up my first piping bag, and a love of cake decorating was born!

CMC began in 2004 as a hobby creating crazy cakes for friends & family.  As word of mouth grew, I began creating cakes for others, and the orders began rolling in.  Cheeky Monkey Cakes was named for my twin daughters, who at 1&1/2 years old were into everything and quite the cheeky monkeys!

The business grew quickly into quite a second job on top of full-time employment, and in 2013 the demand was so high that I took the terrifying leap into self-employment creating custom cakes full-time!
